What a great game! I was on the edge of my seat the entire game. I don’t think either team had a lead over ten points; with .02 seconds on the clock Carlos Arroyo hits a leaning jumper to win the game for the Jazz.

This is the perfect example of why the NBA is by far the elite professional sports league. On a nightly basis, they have games that come down to the last shot. They have the most unlikely heroes such as Arroyo, and the most entertaining two and a half hours of sports available.

Last night’s Jazz-Nuggets game took two of the West’s most surprising young teams and put them in a playoff-type atmosphere. With less than a minute left in the game, it seemed Denver fell apart. On the last play of the game, Denver’s defense broke down. An offensive foul on Denver’s last play was almost as devastating as the winning shot.

Utah’s young players looked like seasoned veterans, patiently waiting for a Denver mistake to capitalize on. It was scary for the last few minutes of the game watching Utah miss shot after shot, going the last five and a half minutes of the game without a score. But they made one when they needed to.

So here we are in the home stretch of another great NBA season. Utah has a half-game lead on the Portland Trailblazers and a one game lead on Denver. It’s going to be an exciting couple of weeks...
